Social Media is an ever-changing landscape, with new tools and updates coming out almost daily.  With the popularity of Facebook and Twitter, other platforms are expanding their offerings to keep up.  In Part II of our series, we will look at Ping.fm.

Ping.fm is a social update site that “makes updating your social networks at snap!”  To begin, you set up your FREE Ping account.  Once that is done, you can log in and choose the social networks that you want to include in your updates.  When you type a message in their message box and click Pint it!, the message will be sent to all of the networks you have selected to update.  So, you can post to your Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, MySpace, Delicious, etc., all from one place.  As of May, they have added posting to Google Buzz.  To see all the supported networks, visit http://www.ping.fm/networks/ .

Ping.fm has received rave reviews from individuals and businesses alike.  Business really like the ease of posting to many social networks at once, reducing the time commitment of participating in multiple networks.  It is a valuable tool in your social media arsenal.

Net week, in Part III of our series, we will look at TweetDeck and Hootsuite.
