Facebook is a great way to interact with your consumers.  One of the easiest and best ways to interact with consumers on Facebook is to launch a Fan Page.  It not only gives user a place to talk about your products but it also lets you communicate important information, specials and start open conversations with consumers.  Fan pages are also very cost-effective.  You could spend millions to talk to your consumers via traditional advertising online and offline and with direct mail you are likely to spend thousands of dollars to send uninvited messages to your consumers.  With Facebook, all of these costs vanish.  The service is Free.  An excellent example of a Facebook Fan Page, and one of the largest, is the one that belongs to Coca-Cola.
