With the decline of traditional advertising like television and print, it is getting harder and harder to find effective ways to attract consumer attention.  As a result, more and more businesses are moving marketing dollars toward online marketing and social networking tools.  We have a video on the power of social media on our Xstreme Social home page, which I recommend you take 5 minutes and watch.  One of those, Facebook, can be a high-effective, virtually cost-free solution.

Three Ways Facebook Can Help Your Business

      2.  Facebook is a valuable source of consumer data.  Beyond the interaction, Facebook is a very effective way to 
           gather data about your consumers.  Facebook offers Page Administrators what are called "Page Insights."  This is
           analytics for your Facebook page.  It includes the number of visits, how many people return regularly, how long
           they stay on the pages and even basic demographics such as male to female ratio, age groups and regions or
           origin.  You should also pay attention to the Total Fans/Unsubscribed Fans metric - this will show whether or not
           your Facebook content is resonating with consumers.

           You can use this as a guide to drive traffic, to assist you in providing more relevant content or to delve into more
           complex behaviors around your product or service.  Some of the more complex analyses will probably require 3rd
           party assistance, but they can help you steer your entire marketing plan in the right direction.
