      3.  Facebook can help target your advertising.  Another way to effectively market through Facebook is to use Facebook ads.  The benefit to Facebook ads is the targeting that you can achieve with them.  You can target your ad based on age, relationship status, gender, location, income level and more.  Facebook also lets you target based upon keywords, which is very exciting.  If you wan to target pet lovers, you can base your targeting for your ad on the words pet, pet lovers, dogs, cats, and more and Facebook will only show your ad to those people who are interested in those keywords, which is a very highly targeted group.  You can also target news sources and hopefully generate some free PR.

With Facebook ads, you also get free analytics to ensure the best ROI.  They can also best be used together with a Facebook Fan Page for your business, for the highest possible exposure.  When someone clicks on your ad, send them to your Fan Page or send them to a landing page on your website.
